Companies have long been lobbying for lower corporate tax rates. But the consequences of going too far might not be in their interests in the long-term.
No one wants to die young - except maybe Pete Townshend whose lyrical hopes have been dashed now he’s 71 – and no one wants to pay more tax. Few people would say they actively enjoy seeing the numbers subtracted from their payslips, though most tend to accept that it is in the general public good that they pay tax and that money is spent on educating their children, keeping them safe and keeping them in good health into old age.
