Will the UK become a tax haven after Brexit?

A storm of controversy has been whipped up surrounding Chancellor Philip Hammond’s suggestion the UK might look to become a tax haven post-Brexit. How might this work in terms of TP policy and what does it mean for Europe?

Every time Prime Minister Theresa May opens her mouth to talk about the UK leaving the EU, the pound seems to nosedive as her erstwhile vagueness gives way to a growing sense the government will pursue an economically damaging hard Brexit. Today’s headline speech bucked that trend as she sought to calm jitters. But what is really causing waves this week is Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond’s veiled suggestion the UK could seek to position itself as a tax haven post-Brexit.
