Tax hike stops Fiji water flow

A two-year transfer pricing dispute between the Fijian tax authority and the US subsidiary of Fiji Water has escalated in recent weeks with the company cancelling operations after the government raised tax dramatically.
Bainimarama, Fijis military leader, last week raised the tax on Fiji Water from one-third of a cent per litre to 15 cents per litre, against other water bottlers paying one-tenth of a cent.
