ATO compliance program hits transfer pricing hard

The Australian government hopes to use international information exchange as part of an increased scrutiny of transfer pricing arrangements.
Released on July 7, the Australian Tax Offices compliance program document for the next year outlines a continued focus on international profit shifting in both the small-to-medium enterprise market (companies with an annual turnover of A$2 million ($1.7 million) to A$200 million) and among large business also (those with turnover of more than A$250 million).
