China closes thin cap loophole

China has released a tax circular that closes a loophole in the country’s thin capitalisation rules regarding the deduction of interest payments.
Circular 777 was released by the State Administration of Taxation (SAT) earlier this month and addresses a number of areas that would have allowed companies to avoid thin capitalisation restrictions.
