Circular puts Italian tax police on related-party alert

The general headquarters of the Italian Tax Police have issued a circular letter aimed at providing tax officers with updated instructions on the assessment activities they should perform.
The document, released to the public in March 2009 but distributed internally to its inspectors at the beginning of 2008, describes the inspection methodologies to be followed and strengthens the connection between examinations and subsequent assessments.
