IRS forms transfer pricing council
April 06, 2009
The Internal Revenue Service has formed a council to help it deal with transfer pricing matters effectively
The group includes representatives of the different parts of the agency with responsibility for transfer pricing, such as the APA Office. It is stating the obvious to say one of the Services biggest challenges is transfer pricing, said Barry Shott, LMSB deputy commissioner (international), who will lead the council. We are working very hard to get this issue developed and decided we needed better coordination.
The objective is to look for gaps in the guidance that taxpayers and the Revenue agents require and address them, added Shott. Its the first time we have attempted to coordinate transfer pricing at this level.
